Entry Types
This article covers how to create, manage, deactivate, and restore entry types.
What Are Entry Types?Entry types let you choose how someone’s attendance is marked — like present, sick, away, or vacation. Each entry type also shows whether the time off is paid or unpaid. If you no longer use a certain entry type, you can mark it as inactive. Inactive types won’t show up when adding new attendance entries, but they’ll stay in the system for records.
How to Manage Entry Types
In the Entry Types section, you’ll see a list with the following details:
Code: A short name for the type (like P for Present or S for Sick).
Description: A few words explaining what the code means.
Paid: Shows if the time is paid or not.
Default: You can choose one entry type to be the default when adding attendance.
Status: Tells you if the code is active or inactive.
Adding a New Entry Type
To add a new entry type:
Click Add Entry Type.
Enter a short code.
Add a description (optional).
Choose if it’s paid or unpaid.
You can also mark it as the default if you want.
Click Save.
The new type will now show up in your list and can be used when recording attendance.
Deleting and Restoring Entry Types
If you don’t need a type anymore, click Delete next to it. It will move to the Deleted section at the top of the page.
To bring it back:
Go to the Deleted section.
Find the one you want to bring back.
Click Restore.
It will be active again and ready to use.
Tips
Keep codes short and easy to understand.
You can only have one default entry type.
If you might use a code again later, make it inactive instead of deleting it.
